Brief Biography:
I obtained my PhD at the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, India working on developmental toxicology during 2002 -2007. My predominant doctoral research interests focus on how drugs influence the process of apoptosis (signaling) in bringing about malformations/birth defects in the developing rat embryos. In the majority of my research, I have used a post-implantation rat whole embryo culture system to elucidate the mechanism of teratogenesis (birth defects) and study the role of apoptosis in mediating this process. At present I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at LSU Health Sciences Center, USA since 2007 working on different aspects of viral pathogenesis.
